Project Finished AT LAST!
Ready for weekend and a backyard party OH YEAH!

Thank god its finally over! I've been working on a project for the past 2 months after it was dumped in my lap and its finally done. GO ME! Its kept me pretty busy overall but I still found time to play just not much.

The weather has been so pretty here I decided to do a weekend BBQ and inivite some friends over to play with me to celebrate my freedom from the dreaded project programming I've been doing. Got the grill cleaned up, got the ice chests filled with a variety of beers and drinks and am at this moment smoking the brisket for tomorrow. I'll wait to do the ribs in the afternoon. heee I can't wait. I have no idea what side dishes my friends are bringin but I'm sure they'll be yummy, they always are. I really love this time of year in Texas.

Second Life is going well as well. I moved from the land I had before onto a 1/2 sim with a project I'm a partner in. I gave em a bit of my land so we set up a cute club there and of course I set upBarbilicious Groove )

Ok so... I know its been ages since I updated. I mean what's the use in having a perm account if I'm not gonna use it right? heeee

Anyway, this is the scoop my lovelies... Life has been... busy with a capital B! I've been so busy the poor hamster in my head is so out of breath he can't even be sarcastic to me anymore.  He just pants and shakes his paw at me nastily heeee

Hmm.. where to start? Ok well I have to fire my first employee today. OH JOY for me! Anyone that really knows me knows I just don't have that in me, however it needs to be done so I'll do so. I've decided to do it quick and clean.. kinda like pulling a bandaid. A very big burly bandaid. hehehe

I was going to take some vacation time around valentines day but that plan changed rather quickly after a big cockup. Thankfully I hadn't submited the request to my partners yet. In a way its for the best seeing as how hectic work has been and the new events of today are gonna tip my hours a bit.

Ummm... Wed my father had his 2nd heart attack in 3 years. The first damaged him pretty bad but thankfully I was around to MAKE him go to the hostpital this time. So very little damage done. Dr's think it was stress induced and tests have shown no new arterial damage. YAY. I've promised myself I'll make him take better care of himself even if I have to tie him to my parents home and beat him with my rubber clown mallet till he listens...

Errr... Oh one of the biggest changes I've made in life in a long time... I'm finally quitting smoking. I had decided about a year ago to try however I started about 3 weeks ago with some encouragement. And even though that person isn't a factor anymore I'm still determined to to do. So even with all the emotional stress and business stress I'm still chuggin along on my plan of cutting down and out. So umm.... I need things to suck on! *leer* Volunteers can apply in Barbie's Bedroom Luxury Lake SL. Heeeeeeee

I had thought of giving up smoking pot and had for about the same amount of time. One problem though... My ADHD is driving me NUTZ! Can't focus on anything, nothing aside from work is getting done, and WAY too emotional reactions to things. Besides the one factor prompting me to stop decided they weren't a factor anymore, much to my dismay. So... puff puff passssssssssss babies.

Umm.. Oh ya have bought Land in Second Life... woooot go me! And I have a fab skyhome and land chill spot with boat and motorcycle. I start building today. I'll be sure to post up pics of it once I have it up and going. Hired a FAB builder to help me and will be a groovy plush lush chillax hang out for friends there. I'll definitely put up and announce here in the Journal so all you Second Lifers can come check it out and enjoy the view and goodies and of course hang out for awhile and have some fun.

Speaking of SL.. OH MY GAWD I've never seen more of a time sucker than that game. I used to think the reason I spent all hours in there was I was distracted by someone... however.. I've found that one minute I'll be hanging out talkin or shopping like the SL Shop Ho I am then I'll look up and its 4 or 5 in the morning. lol This game is better than caffeine. OH COFFEE GODS you SO did not hear my blasphemy!

Anyway must get back to work but I really will update more frequently. Time flys when you're havin.... umm.... somethin... not sure if its fun or not but it sure does keep things hoppin!

Jan. 2nd, 2009 @ 06:46 pm Caffienated Ramblings...
OMG burr grinders rock! Who knew that the method you grind your coffee beans in could make such a huge difference in flavor... hehehe

Now I put Starbucks baristas to shame! heee

I finally had to break down today and buy a new grinder. I've had mine for about 8 years now and it finally went tits up in the water this morning. Now let me tell ya... post holiday traffic is a bitch but my addiction is strong, so I ventured out into the perilous seas known as Baybrook Mall... Dun dun duuuuuun!

Anyway, picked up the new grinder and just HAD to try it out. And my Morpg is down...

So basically I'm sittin here hyped with nothing to do...

Suddenly, brewing that pot of fresh java might not have been such a good idea. :P

Dec. 25th, 2008 @ 09:00 pm Merry Ho Ho Ho!
Hopefully the Fatman in Red was as good to you guys as he was to me...

Not only did I get to bake and give pressies to all my friends and family, but I racked up the xmas goodies too. I got the usual girly things for Xmas and some not so girly things too. One of which being a lovely 22in wide screen monitor. Games will never be the same again.  AND I got to watch the Doctor Who Christmas Special all on the same day.

I can only think of one or two wee little things that could have possibly made it better like not having this cold from hell or very possibly having hot raunchy sex... either or.... heee

I must say the special was fabu. Definitely worth the download. Loved the badies and the story as always. If you haven't seen it I highly recommend it

So that being said, I think I'll go curl up by the fire with a hot toddy and take a breather because Christmas is FINALLY over....

heeee

Dec. 24th, 2008 @ 08:58 am If you can't take the heat...
Go find someone that can...

Ok so I finally finished baking and all I have left to do is the pork loin for my parents Christmas dinner... Thank God. I think if I had to spend one more moment chained to my ovens, I'd turn into a keebler elf

Hamster: I think you'd look funny good in those curly toed shoes

*gets staple gun* I think you'd look good with some reindeer antlers on your head too...

Hamster: Ok so maybe the curly toed shoes aren't a good fashion statement for you... Hmmm *tries to think and avoid the staple gun* How 'bout you wear some mistletoe instead? That's festive right? *hopes*

Hmmmm... *rummages around* You know you're right and I have just the thing!

Mistletoe panties. Just the thing to bring joy to the season...

Peace Out
Dec. 23rd, 2008 @ 07:12 pm The Mad Baker Strikes Again...
OMG! Tomorrow is X-mas eve and I'm still not even half way through my baking!

I imagine, at this moment in time, that I sort of resemble a cross between my sexy vixen self and the Swedish Chef from the Muppet Show...

Hamster: Bork Bork Bork! *tosses spatula across kitchen*

I have to cook with that you know... its not just for spanking anymore

Anyway... I'm about half way through things here. We have all sorts of yummy cookies, some carrot cake and cinnamon bread, and of course my Hotter Than Hell... Blazin Brazen Trash. I'd say this year we have a two beer batch possibly 3 beers. heeee

So tonight, while I'm having my insane cooking binge, I'll be in and out to chitty chat among other things...

Hamster: *whispers* Translated to mean.... smoke a spliff, hang out here and blind me with musings on Doctor's with bad fashion sense *cringes*

You know there's still time to add hamster fricassee to the menu...

Dec. 5th, 2008 @ 09:33 am Woooot!
Its been a bit since I last posted. As usual, this vixen is ALWAYS busy with some male project or another. Been using these nimble fingers of mine to diddle with the keys for a client the past few weeks. Anyway...

YAY! I have a perm account!

Alas I'm being dragged away by reality once again...

Hamster: YES! She's so busy she can't even think of the screamcoat!!!!

*narrows eyes*

Hamster: Guh! You just had to do it!

Nov. 13th, 2008 @ 06:34 pm Mmmmmm oh yeah!
No those aren't the sounds of sex, they're the sounds of a happy mouth full of pizza. The sex sounds come later *wink*

Anyway I made 2 yummy pizzas tonight

Proscuito with portabella mushrooms, caramelized onion, and pepperoni
And...
Spinach and feta with sundried tomatoes and some left over roasted chicken

And now for a quick opinion from you all:

I have this guy that works for me and he's recently divorced, supporting a small wee girl, and has almost no money to speak of to spend on himself. He never eats lunch cause he just can't afford it. Should I...

Eat all this lovely pizza myself with a few friends or... Take it in tomorrow under the flimsy excuse of feeding the whole team just cause its Friday? (I don't think he'll accept it if he knows I just brought it for him)

Nov. 13th, 2008 @ 09:01 am Things that make ya go hmmm....
Morning all. As usual I was up before the glowy ball and the roosters. Now, after a quad latte and a scrumptious orange/cranberry scone, I'm coherant.... sort of... after 3 hours of sleepwalking *hee*

Then I got this.... at the end it looked like my windscreen after a trip to Louisana.

If that weren't enough I've been pondering great questions in life such as: )
Hmm...
Nov. 10th, 2008 @ 08:01 pm Whadaya want for nothin... a rrrrrruber bisquet?
OMG Max is showing the Blues Brothers. What a fun movie. *Squee*

I can never not laugh when I see Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi sing Rawhide and Stand By Your Man... *cackle*

If you haven't seen it, you really should check it out.

Nov. 9th, 2008 @ 04:51 pm Hulk Smash!
Woooo! I have to say I love how Stan Lee and Marvel are bringing comics to the big screen. And I'm getting really excited about the Avengers movie. Iron Man had Captain America's sheild in Nick's workroom and Nick appears at the end of the Hulk movie. I'm all a twitter.

Also should say that this Hulk movie was SO much better than that flop by Ang Lee. Sadly Stan helped write that catastrophy.

Anyway Ed Norton does an outstanding job as Bruce Banner and Liv Tyler is almost always a treat to watch in anything she does.

Really can't wait for the Captain America and Avengers movies to come out.

I give em a big thumbs up and a honkin, hunka cheedar, the flavor that compliments just about any dish you're servin up for the evening.

Hamster: I think he looks a lot like me...

*thinks* Maybe after a couple quad shot lattes and bag of pixie stix...

Nov. 8th, 2008 @ 09:33 pm Junk Food and New Who
Every now and then I have to indulge in a meal that's simply put... a colest fest. Tonight it was sloppy joes, fries and a banana twin for desert. Southern comfort food. Heee Meals for lazy people.

Anyway, I finally got to catch the season 4 premier Voyage of the Damned on BBC America. Woot! Not too sure if I like the changes to the theme though. Really must catch back up. And "The Host" are spooky things and remind me of the androids in Robots of Death.

And now...

I'm off for some SnS, Socializin-n-Shaggin...

And I'm not comin home till one of us passes out won't be me mwuahahaha

Nov. 8th, 2008 @ 05:58 pm Good Deeds and Chicklets...
Today I woke up early and decided that since I was bored silly I'd clean out a few things from my garage. So, I pack up 4 cases of MRE's left over from IKE and 2 cases of water. (yes I still have MORE of them in my garage FEMA was great)

Anyway, since we have a cold front right now I thought I'd take em down to the area I work in to hand out to some of the homeless camping out under the overpasses in the business section of Houston. I gave everyone I could 2 MRE's and 4 waters. Then I get to this one guy... he looks like he really needs em so I hand him the stuff and he looks at it... and starts handing it back to me and says "You're not giving money?". Ummm WTF?

On a side note... Never ... EVER... eat the chicklets in an MRE!

I'll tell ya why... )

Nov. 8th, 2008 @ 05:37 am No Rest for the Wicked...
Gods I hate my internal alarm clock! Here it is a Saturday morning and I can't even sleep in. I'm so used to being up before the glowy ball that my body wakes me even if I don't have to get up. I think its some insidious plot to keep my brain fuzzy. *looks at Hamster*

Hamster: *yawns and grooms ears* Don't look at me, I was happily burrowed in the kinky bits of your mind before you so rudely woke me with your cackling

*blinks* I thought you didn't like the kinky bits of my brain?

Hamster: *scratches* Its not so bad if you can avoid the bits with the Technicolor Scream Coat in it...

*smiles and closes eyes*

Hamster: HEY! That is SO not fair! MY Eyes! I'll get you when you least expect it.... you just wait! *scurries off to plot revenge*

Anyway... I can't complain too much because I woke up in time to catch one of my all time favorite movies: Bedazzled (the Original verson) starring Dudley Moore and Peter Cook. I've seen both versions of the movie and the original is my favorite even if it is a bit dated. Peter and Dudley just work so well together in this comedic pairing

And Raquel Welch as Lust is just SO fitting.

For anyone wanting to watch this comedic slice of Brie, its on HBO Comedy... right now.

Nov. 6th, 2008 @ 08:52 pm Writer's Block: Reading Aloud

One of the highlights of going to a literary festival is hearing authors read from their own works. What author, living or dead, would you most like to hear read?

View other answers

If I could have any author read their work to me it would have to be, Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss. I'd love to hear him read some of my all time favorite stories like Horton Hears a Who, Green Eggs and Ham, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, or how about Fox in Socks.

If I could pick a second it would be Sir Aurthur Conan Doyle. Many might have him read his Sherlock Holmes Adventures however I'd have him read The Lost World.
